Former N.D. warden now a professor

Tim Schuetzle, the former warden of the state penitentiary, is now the criminal justice program director at the University of Mary.

Schuetzle spent more than 30 years in corrections. He served as director of the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Prisons Division from 1997– 2007 and as warden from 1991–2010. In 1998, he was named “Warden of the Year” by the North American Association of Wardens and Superintendents.

"I am excited for the opportunity to lead the criminal justice department at the University of Mary and hope that my contacts and experience within the local criminal justice community can expand our hands-on learning opportunities for our students," Schuetzle said in a statement.
