Taylor campaign launches ad

BISMARCK–The race for governor is now officially reaching into your home.

Soon after Gov. Jack Dalrymple launched his first TV ad, Senate Minority Leader Ryan Taylor of Towner has released his own.

On Facebook, the state Democratic-NPL party said Taylor’s ad will air tonight (Tuesday) during the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts across the state.

Taylor wears his trademark cowboy hat and a blue shirt (the color of Democrats) in the 30-second ad and stands near an intersection along a country road.

“We’re at a crossroads. Our state’s path could be made smooth and create better lives for everyone or be rutted by greed,” Taylor says in the ad. “That’s why I’m running for governor.”

North Dakotans won’t see a lot of TV ads from his campaign, Taylor says in a veiled commentary on the difference between his and Dalrymple’s campaign war chests.

“But I’ll be going around all of North Dakota, listening to you, not talking at you,” Taylor says in the ad. “Because while some take credit and make money from our God given resources, I want to make sure that the price we pay isn’t our quality of life or what makes this place home.”
