Read the judge’s response to the Measure 2 complaint

BISMARCK–Supporters of a measure to abolish property taxes in the state have “failed to satisfactorily show the court by affidavit that sufficient grounds exist to issue a temporary injunction or restraining order” against several state and local officials, a judge has ruled.

You can see the full judge response here.

Empower the Taxpayer filed a complaint against Tax Commissioner Cory Fong, several legislators and local officials, and several organizations last week. The group alleged these officials were violating the state’s Corrupt Practices Act.

They believe officials are intentionally engaging in lies and fear mongering over the measure.

Their opponents say Measure 2 supporters realize they are losing their argument in the court of public opinion and are now resorting to threats and baseless claims.

  1. Good reporting Terri, I really appreciate your reporting and your blogs are very informational, Thank you! I hope now maybe the questions I posed to you yesterday would help clarify the power point the tax commissioner presented.

    • I’ve sent your questions to Cory. I generally give officials a week or two to respond. I expect to hear from him soon. Right now, it’s scheduled to run as the March 11 Ask Your Government since I have a few questions before.

  2. “officials are intentionally engaging in lies and fear mongering ”

Standard operating procedure for the parasitical, ruling class, who call themselves ‘servants’ when convenient, to keep the drones subdued.

Even if the measure fails, a group of North Dakotans have stood against deception and tyranny. They are part of an organic movement that is growing exponentially and has the very real potential to fully reclaim civil and economic liberty.

  3. dear teri, I think a lot of people would be interested in finding out more about how the process works on certifying the signatures on petitions that are submitted to the secretary of state, especially the one that was delivered on feb. 7, 2012

  4. well, teri, we live in pepin, wi now and have since 2004. Before that, we lived in grand forks from 1961. our whole family follows sioux sports and the university of north dakota. we all also support dropping the nickname; not because we hate it, but because of the damage the sanctions could cause the university. I am sure that is more information than you wanted. regards, bob garver
