Goehring appoints two to organic advisory board

BISMARCK – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has appointed Pat Frank, Dickinson, and Jennifer Tesch, Fargo, to two-year terms on the North Dakota Organic Advisory Board.

Frank succeeds Chuck Gustafson, Dodge, as the western North Dakota producer representative on the 16-member board. Tesch, the marketing director for SK Food International, Fargo, succeeds Scott Sinner, Fargo, as the food processing representative.

Goehring also reappointed Christina Dockter, Medina; Britt Jacobson, Park River; Ernie Hoffert, Carrington; Anne Ongstad, Robinson, and Betsy Perkins, Grand Forks, to two-year terms on the advisory board.

“The board members represent organic producers, processors, retailers, certifiers and consumers,” Goehring said in a statement. “They provide the North Dakota Department of Agriculture with information and ideas to better identify and meet the needs of this growing industry.”

The advisory board will next meet Sept. 30 in Bismarck.
