Funds aim to prevent crime

The North Dakota Department of Corrections will receive $295,500 in federal funding to help prevent juvenile crime.

The U.S. Department of Justice Juvenile Accountability Block Grant will be used by the state for crime prevention and rehabilitation programs to confront juvenile delinquency, according to a news release from the state’s congressional delegation.

“This funding will go a long way in helping get young offenders back on track and ensuring our state continues to be a safe place,” the delegation said in a joint statement.
